Your job may not be all you want from life, but you can’t afford to live without it? So you find yourself dabbling into an extra side job which is becoming overwhelmingly stressful but you love it and your passionate about it!  how do people manage both you ask? Don’t people burnout?

Here are some tips on how to manage your side hustle with your 9-5 job!

DON’T DO IT AT ALL

You won’t be able to do it all when you start and making smart outsource choices can help save you time. If you leverage social platforms then try and use a social scheduler like Hootsuite, you can then do all your social media once or twice a week.

KEEP YOUR TIME SEPERATE

Many of us think that multitasking saves you time, but recent studies have found that it actually makes you less efficient. Set out clear times for you to do specific things. Keep your personal, work and hustle separate.

TAKE A BREAK

When we get tired and work long hours, the last thing we want to do is exercise, but exercise itself will give you more energy and leads to overall wellbeing. If you are working long hours take a break every couple of hours and take a walk or go for a run.

JOIN A HUSTLE GROUP

There are quite a few hustle groups popping up online, a forum where you can connect with likeminded people. Use them for idea generations and networking. It could open doors for you and your business and widen your support network. Try Linkedin or Facebook for some groups.

ONE CALENDAR

Use one calendar for all personal, work and hustle appointments; I find this trick very helpful. The best thing to do is keep it colour coded so each time you look at a specific day you know exactly what you are doing at each point. Keep this up and see how organised your diary becomes.

TAKE A DAY OFF

Make sure you book one day off or half a day to spend quality time with family and friends. You will rely on them a lot for moral support and occasional help, so being able to give them some time with you solely will not only make them happy but it will also give you a little break so you can return refreshed.

How do you make time for your side hustle? Let me know!

I wish I could blog on the side and make money doing so- ! Maybe some day, I am trying to treat the blog like I am making money right now- trying to be consistent with it and work hard! This is my current side hustle 🙂
