In the words of Gabriella “Dreams can come true” . The world is competitive but there’s one thing you shouldn’t do, that is quit. Take another path, a break, train up but never quit.
Before you know it you’ll be leaping out of bed in the morning because you don’t need to dream about that job anymore because you’ll actually live it.
These are the ways in which your blog can help you land you dream job , one step ahead :
#1 Voice
“When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful.” – Malala Yousafzai.
Blogs can literally be about anything. It’s up to you on how it comes across and who is willing to listen and continue to listen. Speak your truth. Speak your views. Speaks your beliefs. People visit your blog because of you. Initially you would have started your blog for yourself but eventually, it becomes a part of other people’s lives. It’s the confidence and commitment that makes people want to listen to more.
#2 Connectivity
“I exist in two places, here and where you are.” – Margaret Atwood
That passion forms connectivity. If people connect with the words from your blog, they personally connect with you. Potential employers will see that passion. Today many employers are asking for your social networking sites or websites. If your blog fits their field than an instant connection can be formed. It runs deep and it’s what people are drawn to.
#3 Personal Brand
“The most exhausting thing you can be is inauthentic” – Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Brands are not just about products anymore but people! You even have to win America’s Next Top Model looking for a Business, Boss, and Brand. Your goal may have been to just have people listen but as your audience grows they are also looking at you. You may talk about makeup but what is your own twist to it that makes you stand out from all the others. Different shaped eyebrows may do the trick!
#4 Skills
“These are skills we can take wherever we go in life, no matter what we do” – Millie Hogue
Show off your skills. You may be an excellent writer that draws people in, or you may not be but still have a way of grabbing people’s attention. Employers may want someone with years of experience but if you can show you have what it takes. They can’t deny what you have.
#5 Development
“Self-development is a higher duty than self-sacrifice” – Elizabeth Cady Stanton
Your blog shows your journey. There may have been changes made along the way and that’s great! This shows that you have developed yourself. We always have room for improvement and employers can witness that you’re willing to grow and open to new things.
Everyone wants the opportunity to have their dream job but always remember to stay true to who you are and where you started. It may be the blog that gets you hired but don’t forget you started it!
