1/2 a cucumber, peeled and sliced
1 stalk of celery
1 handful of kale
1 apple, peeled and sliced
1 pear, peeled and sliced
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Juice all of the ingredients in order, ending with the lemon juice. If you find that the juice is too thick, pour a bit of water into your juicer to get the last bits of goodness out, and dilute the end product.

#4 Banana, Almond Milk, and Matcha Energizing Smoothie

2 frozen bananas
1 Cup  romaine lettuce
2 Cups  almond milk
1-2 Teaspoon matcha powder
1-2 Teaspoon honey

Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth. I love this smoothie because it’s one of many takes on a green tea latte. The matcha powder is smooth, earthy, and slightly bitter, and balances beautifully with sweet bananas and honey. If you don’t have matcha powder on hand, brew two cups of green tea and chill in the fridge, Use this in place of the almond milk and then throw in ¼ cup of almonds (or the nut of your choice).

#5 MULBERRY, LAVENDER, AND KALE ENERGIZING SMOOTHIE

frozen banana
1 cup fresh mulberries (or ½ cup dried)
1 cup kale
1 tablespoon dried lavender
2 cups apple juice
½ cup rolled oats
¼ cup raw cashews
1 teaspoon lucuma powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth. The lavender complements the mulberries beautifully and adds a calm edge to the energizing kale, berries, cashews, and oats.

Love these smoothie recipes! I’ve been making them a lot this month, and they are surprisingly very filling. That along with my homemade granola bars make a fantastic breakfast. 🙂
