It’s a New Year and it’s likely you have on your list of goals “lose weight” or “Get fitter” , we’re down with you on that one because as the popular saying goes ” health is wealth” . As long as you are strong and healthy you can always make that money!

The struggle right now is how to get back into exercising. Here are our simple top tips:

#1 START LIGHT

In a much as you want to drop the extra pounds you gained over the holidays you’ve got to start light. Starting light could mean going for a gentle jog , taking up a new sport and doing this for about 30 minutes a day , 3 times a week at the bear minimum. Once you’ve gotten used to this then you can increase your workout times and days.

#2 GET YOUR SQUAD INVOLVED

For that extra bit of motivation and to keep accountable get your squad involved. If you can’t manage to get them to join you, they can always check in on how you’re doing daily.

#3 CLEAN OUT THAT FRIDGE

We all know when it comes to getting healthier it comes from 80% diet and 20% exercise. Based on that, the important thing is to chuck out all that junk you may have in the fridge and replace it with healthy food. #4 GET SOME INSPIRING WORKOUT GEAR

Keep yourself inspired by getting yourself some hot workout gear, looking good gives you a boost of confidence.

#5 GIVE YOURSELF SOME REALISTIC GOALS

Go easy on yourself and set yourself some realistic goals. It could be workout minimum 3 times a week for a month . The the following month you can increase this to 5 times, you can also set weight loss goals such as lose 2 lbs a week , but remember to measure yourself with a tape measure because sometimes the scale is not the best judge!

#6 DON’T OBSESS OVER THE PROCESS

There’s a difference between obsessing and committing. Learn to commit to this new lifestyle and not obsess about it, obsessing may actually make it harder for you by putting pressure on yourself. Consistency and hard work will bring you your  results.
