I am sure last week many of you may have heard about the 2016 USA elections but for those of you that may just live under a rock let me update you 🙂

On 9th November 2016 Donald Trump was elected the president of USA.  This was a decision made by the citizens of the USA that would change a nation, lives and even the unborn.  In the initial stages we all laughed and mocked Donald. We thought it could never happen, does this remind you about how people react to your life goals? Business goals? Career goals and the likes.

Here are five things we can learn from the 2016 USA elections:

1. Impossible is nothing

Let it be known that nothing is impossible, you can achieve that which you set your mind to do despite the mockery and how absurd it may seem. Many examples of people that proved this Sophia Amoruso and Jack Ma.

2. Experience doesn’t always qualify you for a position.

There have been several cases where people have applied for jobs without having adequate experience or qualifications  yet their confidence and drive gets them the job! Don’t limit yourself! Look at Jack Ma for instance ,  he failed his college entrance exam twice, and was rejected from dozens of jobs, including one at KFC, before finding success with his third internet company, Alibaba.

3. There will be mockers, deal with it.

In every area in your life where you desire to be great there will always be one or two that will mock you for thinking you can achieve that which you desire. Grow thick skin and deal with it. Not everyone will support you and this should not bother you.

4. Stay confident.

As mentioned above confidence and determination can take you places where experience and the likes may not. Confidence causes you to push on regardless of what the naysayers think, confidence causes you to lift your head on high even when you don’t achieve your goal. You try again because confidence says you can do it!

5. Be wise.

Wisdom helps you make better decisions. Some decisions made during this election brought about the results we have today, some may say otherwise. Regardless, your decisions will determine the end result, wisdom is needed to make great decisions.
